Dress Rules
Denim jeans, shellsuits, tracksuits, collarless
shirts (except those specifically designed for golf), football colour and trainers are not permitted in the clubhouse
or on the course. Jeans and trainers however may be worn by under 18s
unless Junior Bye-law D12 applies.
Golf Course Local Rules
Preferred lies cease to be in operation on 1st May.
Aeration Holes
If a ball comes to rest in an aeration hole, the player may, without penalty,
lift the ball and clean it. Through the green the player shall drop the ball
as near as possible to where it lay, but not nearer the hole. On the putting
green, the player shall place the ball at the nearest spot not nearer the
hole that avoids such situation.
Immovable Obstructions
All fixed sprinkler heads, hydrant covers and hoses are immovable
obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule
24-2. In addition, if such a fixed sprinkler head is on or within two club
lengths of the putting green of the hole being played and intervenes on the
line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without
penalty, as follows:
If the ball lies off the putting green but not in
a hazard, and is within two club lengths of the intervening sprinkler head,
it may be lifted cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball
lay which (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids such intervention and (c)
is not in a hazard or on a putting green.
Trees
Players must take relief from a staked or protected tree if it is liable
to interfere with the intended swing i.e. within one club length of the nearest
point of relief, not nearer the hole, without penalty.
Plugged Ball
Rule 25-2. "A ball embedded in its own pitch-mark
in the ground in any closely mown area, through the green, may
be lifted, cleaned and dropped, without penalty, as near as possible to the
spot where it lay but not nearer the hole." This rule of golf applies to
grass cut at fairway height. The local rule extends the rule during the winter
months October-March to include areas of cut grass ie the first and second
cuts of rough and banks of tees and greens, not deep rough or hazards.
Fence at the 3rd Hole
If the safety fence at the back of the 7 th green intervenes on the line
of sight when playing the 3 rd hole, the ball should be dropped without penalty
in the dropping zone provided. When playing the 7 th hole the fence should
be treated as an immovable obstruction.

A free lift and drop must be taken from seeded divots.
The roadway across the 4 th and 6 th holes
A ball coming to rest on the roadway may be lifted and dropped, without
penalty, at the nearest point of relief not nearer the hole.
